The 2018/2019 Aerospace Course Union consists of 10 members. Our duty is to serve the undergraduate Aerospace Engineering students at Ryerson University. On this page you can find out more about the executives.

Florencia Rios Nicolas | President

Florencia is currently in her third year studying Aerospace Engineering and she is this year’s ACU President. She loves technology, sci-fi movies, fashion, and design. She is pursuing the spacecraft stream and hopes to further develop her skills in robotics and programming. Florencia is actively involved around campus and she plans on using all of the experience she has gathered to take this next year for the ACU to infinity and beyond! Bringing together aerospace students across all years and streams to incredible social and professional events is her goal.

Alessandro Cunsolo | VP Operations

Alessandro Cunsolo is a third-year Aerospace Engineering student and your VP Operations for the 2018-19 Aerospace Course union. His passion for aviation has driven him through seven years of service in the air cadet program, and pushed him to begin fulfilling his dream of becoming a pilot. He is enthusiastic about the opportunity to give back to the aerospace community and excited to help fellow students succeed by representing their needs and ideas.
Alessandro is actively involved with the Ryerson and external community. He’s a go-getter who will stop at nothing to get the job done and is dedicated to his positions.
As a frosh leader, make sure to look out for Alessandro during frosh week, at N00N3RS and at any of the other amazing engineering events that are held throughout the year!

 Gajamukan Thiruchchelvam | VP Finance

Gajamukan Thiruchchelvam is a fourth-year Aerospace Engineering student and your VP Finance for the 2018-19 Aerospace Course Union. He has just finished a 16-month internship at Magellan and will graduate in April 2019. As a former ACU member, he knows what it takes to help out and get involved with the Ryerson Aerospace community and knows the ins and outs to fulfill his position of VP Finance.  He’s a big fan anything space related as he always had a passion about it ever since he was born. His dream is that he wants to be heavily involved in helping people move to Mars. When you see him don’t be afraid to say Hi and engage in any sort of conversation.

Levi Gregorash | VP Student Life

Levi is in his second year of Aerospace Engineering at Ryerson and this year he is your VP Student Life. Since learning about the moon landing at a young age Levi has had an interest in space and intends to pursue the spacecraft stream. He enjoys searching code for missing indentation and anything Elon Musk, he even skipped a week of school to attend the Falcon Heavy maiden launch. His most exciting experiment involved programming a Raspberry Pi to log temperature, barometric pressure, and HD video while ascending 30km in a weather balloon. Unfortunately, this balloon now lies at the bottom of some rural Manitoba pond and has yet to be recovered.

Ebtihal Metwally | VP Education

Ebtihal Metwally is currently in her third year of aerospace engineering. She is very delighted to be your VP academic for the upcoming school year of 2018-2019. Aviation has been always her passion and her dream field. During her second year at Ryerson, she has been involved with the aerospace course union and obtained numerous experiences in event planning, as well as skills in presentation, communication, and management. Of the many things she would like to accomplish, her focus will be directed toward plans and events that will ensure the involvement of the aerospace community and the academic success of the students. Also, her plans will ensure an insight into the professional world of the aerospace engineering and open future opportunities in the field. This will be done by attempting to bring a certified CATIA CAD program course to all the years of aerospace engineering students. Moreover, creating tutorials for in-demand courses and surveys and bring the students one step closer to the industry by exposing them to the manufacturing plants. Chelsea Hong | VP Outreach

Chelsea is a third year Aerospace engineering student at Ryerson University.  Chelsea is the VP Outreach for the Aerospace Course Union. Chelsea has been in love with space from a young age and she fell in love with the movies Interstellar and The Martian and intends to pursue career in the spacecraft stream. Chelsea’s goal as VP Outreach is to allow students of all year to build more connection with the industry and connect the students with professional organizations.

Esther Mathew | VP Student Affairs

Esther is in her second year of Aerospace Engineering and your VP Student Affairs for the 2018-2019 academic year. Encouraged by her curiosity for flight and aviation, she aspires to pursue a career in the aircraft stream. As VP Student Affairs, she aims to connect everyone in the aerospace community at Ryerson and to provide support for students. She loves meeting new people and is always ready to lend a helping hand.

Brent Gebuza | VP Communications

Tarab Shah | Second Year Representative

Tarab is a second year Aerospace student and currently the Second Year Representative for the Aerospace Course Union. She loves sudoku, comedy specials, collecting patches, and watching Youtube. In the future, she hopes to join the aircraft or avionics stream and dreams of one day flying her own plane. Tarab is also a commuter student so she understands the pain of taking public transit, don’t hesitate to ask her about her commute! At Ryerson, she is currently involved on 2 RESS committees, with the First Year Engineering Office, as a Central Orientation Ambassador and as a frosh leader. Her goals for the year include involving more 2nd years in ACU affairs, building her professional connections and making the Dean’s List.

Naman Katiyar | First Year Representative

Naman is in his first year of Aerospace Engineering at Ryerson and this year he is your First Year Representative. Since he reads all there is to know about the universe and is constantly looking up at the stars, he hopes to pursue the spacecraft stream. He enjoys working out, sleeping, getting things done as fast as possible, and more sleeping. He has no idea what he’s doing yet but is determined to make sure all the first years are supported by the ACU so they can all accomplish great things. He does Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu jitsu, wrestling, and gymnastics and has just joined CANSAT at Ryerson. He plans to be involved in many other teams and clubs in the following years and is super excited to meet all of you!
